The UK data protection regulator the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has a new chief executive.
John Edwards starts his five-year term today, having held an equivalent position as Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand for the past eight years. He takes over from Elizabeth Denham, who occupied the position until the end of last year.

This year's UKLC User Group Conference was held at the King Power Stadium in Leicester on Wednesday, March 22nd.

This time last year we had just completed our tender for the contract to continue to supply local council websites in Leicestershire & Rutland. We were tentatively waiting to hear how we had got on. Long sentences are common and often contain more than 25 words.

This year's UKLC User Group Event was well attended with members travelling from as far afield as Yorkshire and Kent. The meeting was held in the council chamber at East Northamptonshire Council in Thrapston and was supported by the Northamptonshire County Association of Local Councils.
