New contract with Leicestershire County Council

We have won a contract to continue to supply our parish council technologies in Leicestershire and Rutland for a further two years. The pioneering infrastructure used by town and parish councils in Leicestershire and Rutland is available to all local councils across the UK. The product previously known as 'Leicestershire Parish Councils' is part of UK Local Councils (UKLC) which can be found at www.localcouncils.org

Liz Clark from Leicestershire County Council said, "We are very pleased that the technology, proven in Leicestershire and Rutland, is now available to all local councils in the UK. They will be able to enjoy the many benefits that we have enjoyed for some time. Upper tier local authorities will also benefit from the joined-up county-wide a-z and planning feeds. We recognized some years ago that parish councils would become more important as a service provider and having this electronic service delivery infrastructure in place has contributed to joining-up the three tiers of local government in Leicestershire and Rutland".

These tried and tested web products, which are supplied under licence from 2commune Limited in Leicestershire, are available for supply to other County, District or Unitary Authorities wishing to provide a website solution for their local councils.

Ray Smith from 2commune said, "UK Local Councils (UKLC) is built from the ground up to satisfy the needs of a local council. It integrates seamlessly with the County and District councils to automate the A-Z of services and planning applications feed. The whole system is designed to automate as much as possible to enable staff managing the site to be highly productive, yet remains flexible so as not to limit their creativity".

For local councils, UKLC is more than just a set of web technologies, it provides a dynamic community where sites are reviewed annually, to keep them efficient and effective, and where users are fully trained and supported to make the most of their sites. Parish and Town councils looking for a new website should contact admin@2commune.com for more information.
